What's up everybody! Greg here, it seems like forever since I've blogged. The last three weeks have been very busy for me because I've been helping take care of my dad. When I first started the low carb life, I weighed 263.5 lbs.  I weighed today and I weigh 241.5lbs, a weight loss of 22 pounds.  I've noticed that my jeans seem to be getting looser and now I can tuck my shirts in. Before, I always wore my shirts untucked because I could barely get my pants buttoned! My dad and I had the parmesean chicken and the mock mashed potatoes for dinner last night and were both very impressed with how good it turned out! I made him his first cream cheese sandwich for breakfast this morning and he had me go to the store and get him some cream cheese and Healthy Life bread. I guess that means he liked it. Who knows, he may jump on board and change his physical life.  I guess I'll have to wait and see. Well, that's all I have for now.  I hope to be able to start blogging on a more regular basis.  Hope everybody has a great day!  P.S. I hope to be adding some pictures in the next few weeks.

I'll be back

Hi everyone, Brian here.  I have hijacked Greg's blog today to let you know that Greg will be back soon.  As you probably know, Greg's Dad was in the hospital for over a week & is now home recuperating with Greg's help.  Greg has been very busy taking caring of his Dad and helping him with his recovery but he assures that he has maintained his low carb lifestyle and even called both Lisa & I today to ask us questions about some of Lisa's low carb recipes.  Appartently his Dad has become increasingly interested in the low carb lifestyle, given his heart issues and Greg is actually cooking for him using recipes from ourlowcarblife.com
At Greg's last weight in - a week ago - he had lost 23 pounds!!  He is coming to our house tomorrow to check on me after my root canal and we'll weigh in again.  I can't wait to see him and find out how much more weight he's lost.  We are very excited about Greg's return to his blog and hope you are as well.  Thank you for your continued support and understanding of Greg's absence.

Givin' Up the Mich

Hi, everyone.  Greg, here.  I know it's been a few days since I last blogged.  I weighed in on Monday and to my suprise, my weight hadn't dropped.  It was exactly the same as last week.  I was kinda disappointed but I'm still sticking to it.  I bet for those of you who know me, you can't believe that I would be disappointed.  So, to make sure I keep losing weight, I've decided to cut out my one indulgence, Michelob Ultra.  So, now I'm only drinking coffee, Diet Mt. Dew, water, and 8th Continent Lite Soy Milk.  So far, so good.  Well, I guess that's all I have for today.  Catch you later.

Nine Pounds

Good Morning! Greg here.  After my weigh in on Monday, I had lost another four pounds for a total weight loss of nine pounds in two weeks.  For me so far, the low carb life style has been relatively easy.  As I have been hanging around Brian and Lisa for almost fifteen years I was around when they decided to start the low carb life some three years ago.  I guess in that time, I learned the basics of low carb by watching what they bought at the store, dinner get togethers, and learning how to count the impact carbs on the back of can goods and other food products.  I see Brian pretty much everyday and in the course of a day we talk about low carb foods not because we dont have anything else to talk about, but they're always making something new.  Sometimes I get lazy and instead of looking at the back of the can at the store, I'll ask Brian if somethings ok to eat before I go to the store.  I hope to have some new pictures when I hit the twenty pound mark.  If the pounds keep coming off like they have been, that should be in two weeks or so.  Well that's all for now. Talk to you later!

2 Weeks Down

Today marks the end of my second week on the low carb life and also time for my second weigh-in.  Two weeks ago, I weighed 263.5 pounds.  I lost 5 pounds the first week and as I'm getting ready to step on the scales, I'm hoping for another 5 pound loss or something close to that.  Let's see.  Yes!  I now weigh 254.5.  My weight loss for the week is 4 pounds.  My two week total is 9 pounds.  I feel really good about that because the only thing I've done differently is change what I eat.  That's without really any exercise, just eating low carb.  And no, I haven't been starving myself either.  If I'm hungry, I eat.  To me, it seems like what I'm eating keeps me feeling full a lot longer than before I started this.  Well, that's all for now.  Talk to you later!

What a work out

Hey, everbody, Greg here… What you see here is my blog but it’s usually typed by Brian or Lisa. Today they are on the road, so I phoned it in.

Yesterday Brian & I helped a friend move and boy did we get a workout! Our friend is a fitness fanatic. This guy’s basement is more of a gym than most gyms! We moved a treadmill, a stair machine, over 300 pounds of free-weights, pairs of dumbbells ranging from 2.5 pounds up to 75 pounds each and the weight racks probably weighed 50 pounds each! That’s not to mention the furniture, big screen tv and recording studio equipment (speakers, desks and all sorts of musical equipment). Oh, and did I mention the Harley?! Whew! I’m sure we burned a few calories but being able to help a friend out makes it all worthwhile.

Okay on with my low carb stuff – since I’m not much of a cook yet, I’ve been sticking to some pretty simple meals but for me that’s okay. Being a bachelor, I’m used to that! Cream cheese on low carb wheat toast for breakfast every morning with my large cup of coffee is how I start my day. Sometimes I have the same thing for lunch. If I get busy during the day and skip lunch, I have an early dinner – which is usually a pretty big, low carb dinner to make up for skipping lunch.

Wow! This is the most I’ve blogged! I’ll catch you later. Oh, yeah, my next weigh in is tomorrow. Can’t wait to see how much more I’ve lost – I’ll let you know. See ya, Greg.

My pants aren't as snug

Hey, everybody. Greg here. Still low carbing, although I'm no longer doing the induction thing. I had Philidelphia Original Cream Cheese and hard salami on Healthy Life Low Carb Whole Wheat toast this morning for breakfast. It was so good, I had it for supper, too, along with some pork rinds, which I love.
I haven't weighed since I weighed at Brian and Lisa's house a few days ago but I'm noticing my pants are not as snug, so that's a good thing. Well, that's all I have today so check back tomorrow.

It's been a week - I lost over 5 pounds

Hey, everybody. Greg here. Sorry I missed you the last couple of days. Brian and I have given Lisa a few days to redesign some areas of the site. Yesterday was day 6 of my journey and I did a weigh-in. I lost a little over 5 pounds. I was so excited.
I'll be off induction starting tomorrow so I'll be able to expand my menu. Looking forward to that. I may try a few of Lisa's new recipes. She has used Brian and I for guinnea pigs for the last few years and I loved them all. Now I just need to learn to cook. Brian had to tell me how to boil eggs last week so if I can do it anyone can. The eggs turned out just fine.
I'll keep you posted on my progress. I'm hoping this weeks weight loss will match of exceed last weeks Check back and see.

Day 3 of my new low carb lifestyle

Good Morning! Greg here, day 3 of the low carb diet and everything is going well. Last night for dinner, I took a pound of sausage and mixed in two different kinds of shredded cheese, cheddar and monteray jack. Pattied them out, and fried them in some olive oil. Since I'm not much of a cook, I think it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.
Since I had a patty leftover, I ate it for breakfast this morning with a small glass of 8th Continent Lite Soymilk. I'm looking forward to my first weigh in, that will happen this weekend. Well that's all for now. Have a great day!

Day 2 on low carb

Greg here! Just wanted to let you know the first day on the low carb diet went very well! This morning, I didn't feel like cooking so, I had two hard boiled eggs (which were already cooked cause I boiled a dozen last night to keep on hand in the fridge) and four pieces of pepper jack cheese for breakfast. Suprisingly, I'm still full. If I get hungry and want a snack, I think cheese, not chips! Blog you later!

Started low carb today!

Hey everybody, this is Greg. I officially started the low carb life this morning. I went to the grocery store to get what I need for the week. I've decided to do a week of what they call induction, so all I bought was meat, eggs and cheese which made a short shopping trip. Too bad, cause I just love hanging out at Wal-Mart. I'll keep you posted as often as I can so check me out as often as you can. Gonna put some pictures out as I progress. Before I go, here's a shout out to my Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Mike. Talk to you soon
